Research Valorization: Factors and Mechanisms

The 2nd targeted training module of the UNILINK Project took place at the University of Gabés, from 11th to 12th of March 2010. The aim of this training module was to train PC liaison office staff, PC Universities middle managers, Chamber of commerce officials and Ministry representatives in aspects concerning the valorization of research results and related IP issues.

The training focused on the following aspects:

  • Valorization of public research results on the hand of practical examples
  • The process from the idea to the market
  • Knowledge transfer between universities and the private sector
  • Creation of Spin-off companies and way to transfer knowledge and the role of incubators

The main content and experience providers were experts from Universities of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Tunisia. Local success stories and practical experience from both, the university and the business perspectives were presented among others by the Tunisian national agency of research promotion and innovation (ANPRI), the Groupe Chimique Tunisien-Gabés, Centre de Biotechnologie de Sfax (CBS), National centre of research for agriculture and biology Chott Meriem and the Institute of the regions Arides de Medenine (IRA).
